Real Madrid went into their Champions League quarter-final 2nd leg with Wolfsburg with a two goal deficit, meaning that Los Blancos had to score three in order to qualify for the semi-finals.
And that is exactly what they did, with help from their prolific superstar Cristiano Ronaldo – who scored a terrific hat-trick to see his side triumph 3-0 on the night and 3-2 on aggregate.
Following on from the Portugal international’s sublime performance, a camera man entered the Real Madrid dressing room to record the scenes of jubilation. There was a party atmosphere, aside from Ronaldo, who looked utterly speechless as he lapped up the praise form his team-mates.
The three goals scored on Tuesday night puts Ronaldo on 16 Champions League goals for the season, one away from his record of 17 in one campaign.
Real Madrid will be in Friday’s semi-final draw alongside Bayern Munich, Manchester City and city-rivals Atletico Madrid, who beat Barcelona 3-2 over two legs.
