Bayern Munich reject €65 million Real Madrid offer for David Alaba

Real Madrid have offered €65 million for Bayern Munich’s David Alaba, and the German club rejected said offer and asked for at least €80 million to let the Austrian defender go, according to AS.

Per that samereport, Alaba is now Real’s priority for the remainder of the transfer window, knowing that they might be forced to spend the next two windows without making any improvements to the roster as FIFA are set to confirm the transfer ban on the club.

Alaba’s versatility could help the squad, but he would not be an undisputed starter neither on the left-back position nor in the midfield, given the quality and depth Los Blancos have on those two spots with players like Marcelo, Kroos, Modric or Isco.

Would it be wise for Madrid to spend that much money on Alaba? The Bayern defender is a nice player but Marcelo’s creativity is very hard to replace, so €80 million for a backup could be way too much money.
