There was no place in the starting line-up for Casemiro as Real Madrid drew 1-1 with Barcelona on Saturday, but the Brazilian was happy to be involved having missed over two months with a leg fracture.
Ruled out since mid-September, Casemiro played in midweek against Cultural Leonesa but couldn’t force his way onto the Camp Nou pitch until the 66th minute.
“I’m strong and prepared once again,” he told reporters in Catalunya. “I’m certainly very happy.
“[The draw] is very important, especially because playing here is very difficult and to keep adding points is important for the LaLiga table.”
Having snatched a point at the last via a Sergio Ramos header, Casemiro wouldn’t be drawn on whether or not Real deserved to avoid defeat to the Blaugrana.
“It’s complicated,” he noted. “We both had chances to win but it ended level and that’s probably good for both teams.
“In the first-half we were incredible, then in the second period they came forward to play a lot more. But, we played well and it’s all about accumulating points.”
