1. KEYLOR NAVAS 2.5
Rarely worried, even if a couple of his few saves were less than convincing. On the whole, a straightforward day.

2. DANIEL CARVAJAL 2.5
The target of a few America attacks, but he stood up well to such challenges, often getting important blocks on crosses. In attack, though, his use of the ball left a lot to be desired.

5. RAPHAEL VARANE 3.5
A cool and calm presence at the back, even if Madrid were rarely under pressure. The Frenchman ensured Zidane’s men always looked in control at the back.

6. NACHO FERNANDEZ 3.0
Nacho had very little to do on the whole, with Romero and Peralta starved of service. He did his job well enough, playing the ball out of defence confidently.

12. MARCELO 3.5
The Brazilian had his hands full with Ibarra, but on the whole he coped well enough and was a real threat in attack, supplying a number of well-weighted crosses into the area.

19. LUKA MODRIC 4.0
Cool as ever in midfield. Showcased such poise in possession, gliding past challenges at times. Was key in numerous moves, particularly Benzema’s opener.

14. CASEMIRO 2.5
Not on of his better performances. Guilty losing the ball a few times in midfield, inviting pressure on to Madrid.

8. TONI KROOS 4.0
Keeping things ticking over, he was the produced of several exquisite passes from midfield, none more so than for Benzema’s goal, spotting the gap in the defence and the carving America open.

17. LUCAS VAZQUEZ 3.5
A good showing from the winger. He was constant outlet on the right, crossing for Ronaldo when he hit the post in the first half and generally linking very well with the Portugal star.

9. KARIM BENZEMA 3.0
Struggled to get involved for long periods and was lazily caught offside a few times. But his movement and finish for his goal just before the break were excellent.

7. CRISTIANO RONALDO 4.0
Full of fancy flicks and was involved in almost everything. His finishing was a little off on occasion, missing two glorious chances, but he eventually wrapped things up late on with the goal he deserved to send Madrid into the final.

10. JAMES RODRIGUEZ 3.5
Replaced Kroos in the second half and set Ronaldo up for the clincher with a fine pass over the defence. You can’t ask for much more than that.

21. ALVARO MORATA
Thrown on towards the end but did not have enough time to make a telling contribution.
