Real Madrid have confirmed that midfielder Luka Modric has penned a new deal to keep him at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu until 2020.
After renewing the contract of Toni Kroos last Wednesday until 2022, Los Blancos have wasted no time in tying down his midfield colleague for the foreseeable future.
“Real Madrid and Luka Modric have reached an agreement to extend the player’s contract with the club until June 30, 2020,” read a short club statement.
The Croatian will appear before the media on Wednesday at 1.30pm to discuss the renewal.
One of the most popular figures in both the dressing room and the stands in the Spanish capital, the former Tottenham man has become a key figure for Zinedine Zidane’s side.
