No Casemiro, no Marcelo and no Pepe

Ahead of the trip to Gran Canaria to face Las Palmas, Zinedine Zidane has been forced to deal another injury, Casemiro and Marcelo now joined by Pepe on the absentees list.

Both Brazilians were injured in mid-week and underwent tests on Thursday and Friday respectively to determine the exact extent of their injuries.

The holding midfielder suffered a fracture in his left fibula and will be out for anywhere between one and two months whilst the left-back suffered a slight tear in his right calf but could return in a fortnight.

Neither trained with the group on Friday morning however they were joined by Pepe who worked separately from the team.

The Portuguese centre-half missed the match with Villarreal with a bruised knee but he is targeting a return against Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday.

As a result there were only 21 players present for Los Blancos’ final training session before the Las Palmas clash and Zidane will be forced to make difficult decisions on how to restructure his defence.
