1. KEYLOR NAVAS 4.0
Did an exellent job coming off his line to close down his angles. Made some vital saves to keep Roma out with the game still scoreless.

23. DANILO 3.0
Covered a ton of ground along the right, sporting what seemed to be bottomles tank of energy. Dealt with the threat of El Shaarawy convincingly.

12. MARCELO 3.5
A consisten threat down the left flank, getting forward with regularity. Linked-up well with the likes of Ronaldo and Bale, but his end product needed to be better.

4. SERGIO RAMOS 2.5
Great recovery speed in defence to get back nad deal with Roma’s pace on the counter, but was cought out on a few occasions as well – though he wasn’t made to pay.

3. PEPE 3.0
Often found himself the last man back in defence, a role he seemed to excel in. Did enough to frustrate the visitors on the front foot.

10. JAMES RODRIGUEZ 3.5
Flashed his skill on occasion, but was largely kept on the periphery. Removed all doubt in the tie with a tidy finish to double his side’s lead, rolling the ball through Szczesny’s legs from a tight angle.

8.TONI KROOS 3.0
Kick-started Madrid into attack several times with some prominent passes. Didn’t wow anyone, but filled his role admirably.

14. CASEMIRO 3.5
Never afraid to commit himself to a challenge, running around with endless determination in midfield. Didn’t provide as much on the ball, however.

19. LUKA MODRIC 3.5
A magician in midfield, and one of the best players on the pitch for Madrid. Played a wide range of passes all with pinpoint accuracy, pulling the strings for the hosts in possession.

11. GARETH BALE 3.5
Put in a hour shift on his first start back from injury, and didn’t appear at all of the pace in attack. Moved around well and was always involved in the build-up play.

7. CRISTIANO RONALDO 4.0
Effectively ended the tie with a terrific finish on the end of Lucas’ cross, beating Szczesny with a delightful volley from in close. Had the ball glued to his feet in attack, dribblingpast defenders at will.

16. MATEO KOVACIC
Late sub to wind down the clock.

18. LUCAS VAZQUEZ 3.5
Came off the bench and assisted the opener just minutes later with a great piece of skill, and even better delivery in from the right.

20. JESE RODRIGUEZ
Made some strong runs on the front foot, but came on with the tie already out of reach.
