1. KEYLOR NAVAS 3.0
Spent the majority of the game as a spectator due to Madrid’s dominance of possession, and, as a result, he was given little to do. However, he pulled off a great one-handed save to deny Szymanowski in the second half.
2. DANIEL CARVAJAL 3.0
Was given a few things to think about by Szymanowski, who was one of the better Leganes players, but the Madrid full-back defended well.
5. RAPHAEL VARANE 3.0
Was barely tested on what was a relatively comfortable day for the Madrid back line, and he had very few problems on the rare occasions that Leganes were able to push forward.
6. NACHO FERNANDEZ 3.5
Put in a strong performance in the middle of the Madrid defence, where he defended resolutely and kept his concentration throughout.
12. MARCELO 3.5
Had little to think about defensively due to Leganes’ struggles in advanced positions, allowing the Brazilian to spend most of his time pushing forward, which he did brilliantly.
16. MATEO KOVACIC 3.5
Looked sharp on the ball and put in a great shift in the middle of the pitch, where he impressed with his passing and vision.
8. TONI KROOS 3.5
Looked slightly rusty early on and misplaced some of his long-range passes, but he improved as the game wore on and put in a brilliant performance during the second half.
22. ISCO 3.5
Arguably one of Madrid’s best midfielders. Set up Bale for Madrid’s opening goal with a beautiful lofted pass into the penalty area and was excellent from then onwards.
11. GARETH BALE 4.0
Continued his excellent goalscoring form with two more to help out his stuttering side. Muscled his way past Serantes for Madrid’s first before doubling their lead eight minuted later with a calm tap-in from close range.
21. ALVARO MORATA 3.5
Wasn’t presented with as many clear-cut chances as he would have liked, but he nonetheless put in an impressive display inside the penalty area ans was rewarded late on with Madrid’s third and final goal.
7. CRISTIANO RONALDO 2.5
It wasn’t the best of days for the Portuguese, who found it difficult to get involved in the game and, when he did, failed to get the better of a Leganes back line that largely dealt well with him.
19. LUKA MODRIC 3.0
Replaced Kovacic for the final half an hour and continued his fellow countryman’s good work with a fine display in the middle of the pitch.
10. JAMES RODDRIGUEZ 3.0
Came on for Isco with little over 20 minutes left to play and impressed all over the pitch.
17. LUCAS VAZQUEZ 3.0
Featured late on and looked bright in advanced positions, where he linked up particularly well with Rodriguez.
