1. KEYLOR NAVAS 3.0
The Costa Rican international didn’t have a lot to do, but commanded his area well and was quick to come off his line.

Hung up a great cross for Modric to slam home, but was a little bit careless in possession at times.

2. RAPHAEL VARANE 3.0
A strong aerial presence in both penalty areas, with the young Frenchman going close on two occasions from offensive corners.

4. SERGIO RAMOS 3.0
Made a couple of good interventions to deny Villareal counter-attacks, but wasn’t tested too often.

12. MARCELO 3.0
Linked up fairly well with Benzema and Ronaldo, but the Brazil international was also dangerous in his own right.

Rifled home a low volley and offered plenty of energy and drive on the break for the home side.

14. CASEMIRO 3.0
Offered balance once again, with the Brazilian breaking up play in the middle of the park fairly well.

Key for keeping the tempo up and probing from flank-to-flank for an opening, but didn’t offer much of a direct threat.

18. LUCAS VAZQUEZ 3.5
Slammed home a brilliant goal to double Real Madrid’s advantage, with the young winger popping up in some dangerous areas.

9. KARIM BENZEMA 3.5
Fired home a close-range effort to open the scoring and caused some problems with his dribbling around the periphery of the penalty area.

7. CRISTIANO RONALDO 3.0
Went close with a few close-range chances, but couldn’t quite find the stroke of luck required to get on the scoresheet.

Slid a couple of dangerous passes forward.

10. JAMES RODRIGUEZ 2.5
Introduced for the final 10 minutes, but had little impact.

20. JESE RODRIGUEZ 2.5
Broke to the byline in threatening fashion on one occasion late on.
