13. KIKO CASILLA 3.5
Tested early and often, making a number of terrific saves to keep the game within reach, though his effort on Iborra’s goal was a bit weak.
23. DANILO 2.5
Rather embarassingly headed the ball into his own net for the opening goal, as he seemed to be caught between two minds. His passing was sharp, but he lacked a bit of creativity.
6. NACHO FERNANDEZ 3.0
A lack of pace got him into trouble on a few occasions, but he ultimately did enough to keep things largely in front of him.
4. SERGIO RAMOS 3.0
Removed all doubt with a coolly taken penalty late on, though he did show one or two signs of vulnerability when under pressure.
12. MARCELO 3.0
His typically lively self on the flank. Got forward at will, proving impossible to contain, though the space in behind him was often exposed by Sevilla on the break.
17. LUCAS VAZQUEZ 2.0
Lacked a bit of sharpness in attack, and was unable to really work Soria before giving way just beyond the hour mark.
14. CASEMIRO 4.0
Took no prisoners as he flew in with a number of strong, but fair, challenges. Excellent reading of the game in midfield, proving vital to combat Sevilla’s fast-paced tempo in possession. A determined run saw him win his side a penalty in the final 10 minutes.
8. TONI KROOS 3.5
Came within inches away of an equaliser at the stroke of half-time. A typically responsible showing in possession.
20. MARCO ASENSIO 3.5
A brilliant individual run, sprinting close to the length of the pitch before finishing beautifully though the legs of Soria to give Real their vital away goal. Combined well with Marcelo out wide.
18. MARIANO DIAZ 3.0
An energetic display in leading the line. Did well to find space and was refreshingly direct with the ball at his feet. Lacked composure and experience, however, and was replaced after an hour.
21. ALVARO MORATA 2.5
Needed to work harder to get on the ball. Had the odd bright moment, but went invisible for long stretches. Replaced for the final 15 minutes.
16. MATEO KOVACIC 3.0
Unable to provide much creativity off the bench.
2. DANIEL CARVAJAL 3.0
Came on to provide more defensive stability, but that didn’t always turn out to be the case.
9. KARIM BENZEMA 4.0
Rescued Real at the death with an excellent individual run and finish.
