#10. Mesut Ozil, Alexis Sanchez, Olivier Giroud – Arsenal
Arsenal broke a habit with the £42 million signing of Mesut Ozil in 2013 and this attacking trio was completed with the signing of Alexis Sanchez from Barcelona in 2014. Although initially below Theo Walcott in the Arsenal pecking order, a string of strong substitute appearances forced Olivier Giroud into the Arsenal starting line up where he has enjoyed his best season at the Emirates. The Frenchman provides the foil for the explosive Alexis Sanchez and German playmaker Ozil to flourish. The trio have 23 goals and 23 assists between them this season which has fuelled Arsenal’s title challenge.
#9. Gonzalo Higuain, Jose Callegon, Lorenzo Insigne – Napoli
This is the third season that the Napoli trio of Gonzalo Higuain, Jose Callejon, and Lorenzo Insigne have been at the club and it has been undoubtedly the best. After a number of Juventus-dominated years, Napoli have led Serie A for a long time this season. The attacking interplay between the three has helped new manager Maurizio Sarri enjoy a very impressive first season at the club. Insigne is enjoying his best season in football by far with 11 goals and 10 league assists to his name already. Higuain is the lethal point of the trio and has scored an incredible 24 goals in 24 games for the club this season.
#8. Paulo Dybala, Mario Mandzukic, Paul Pogba – Juventus
After reaching the Champions League final last season Juventus underwent a major squad renovation in the summer. Out went Arturo Vidal, Carlos Tevez, and Andrea Pirlo to be replaced by Sami Khedira, Mario Mandzukic, and Paulo Dybala. The latter two have formed a lethal partnership with midfielder Paul Pogba over the course of a fascinating Juventus season. After an appalling start to the campaign, Juventus went on a 15 match winning run and the form of this trio had a lot to do with it. Along with the incredible Pogba and the guaranteed Mandzukic goals, Juventus seem to have one of the best young players in world football in Paulo Dybala.
#7. Diego Costa, Eden Hazard, Cesc Fabregas – Chelsea
Although not enjoying a good season, the Chelsea trio are undoubtedly one of the deadliest in football today. When on top form, Cesc Fabregas can create enough chances for Eden Hazard and Diego Costa to grab the headlines. The three players were vital in last season’s Premier League title winning campaign for the Blues but have faltered so far this term. It has been Hazard’s form which has suffered the most. Despite scoring 14 goals in each of his last two Premier League seasons, the Belgian is yet to find the net so far this term. If he were to start playing at the level he is capable of then Chelsea will soon shoot up the table.
#6. Edinson Cavani, Angel Di Maria, Zlatan Ibrahimovic – PSG
This pricey trio was completed with the signing of Angel Di Maria from Manchester United for £44 million in 2015. Since then, the trio have helped PSG enjoy a remarkable season in Ligue 1. The Parisian club have won 32 of their 39 competitive matches so far this season, losing just two and are currently 23 points clear at the top of the league table. Di Maria and Cavani have scored 8 and 13 league goals respectively, but the side is built to allow Ibrahimovic to achieve his full potential. The Swede currently has 23 goals in 21 league games which is the best goal:game ratio in any of his seasons as a professional.
#5. Kevin De Bruyne, David Silva, Sergio Aguero – Manchester City
Manchester City aren’t enjoying the best of seasons but their attacking trio of Kevin De Bruyne, David Silva, and Sergio Aguero is the envy of their rivals. Kevin De Bruyne was one of the best players in the world last season which led to his big money move to Manchester City where he joined possibly the Premier League’s best striker and midfielder. The three outstanding players have each suffered lengthy injuries but have managed a combined total of 21 goals and 19 assists when they have made it onto the pitch. The three will be looking to flourish when Pep Guardiola takes over at the Etihad next season.
#4. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Marco Reus, Henrikh Mkhitaryan – Borussia Dortmund
After a poor season last time, Borussia Dortmund parted company with Jurgen Klopp and appointed former Mainz man Thomas Tuchel as the club’s new manager. The decision has proven wise. Dortmund sit just 8 points behind the Bayern Munich powerhouse and are playing some exceptional football. It is the connection between Pierre–Emerick Aubameyang, Marco Reus, and Henrikh Mkhitaryan which has led to much of the club’s success. The three men have a combined total of 40 goals and 17 league assists thanks to their incisive attacking play. Mkhitaryan is enjoying by far his best season at the club and Aubameyang is outshining the outstanding Reus and showing signs of being a world class striker. The Gabon striker has score 21 goals in 21 league games which has attracted the interest of every club in world football.
#3. Robert Lewandowski, Thomas Muller, Douglas Costa – Bayern Munich
Bayern Munich look set to seal yet another Bundesliga title and Pep Guardiola’s men are on exceptional form. Bayern have conceded just one home league goal since the start of October and have won 20 of their 23 Bundesliga matches. The summer signing of Douglas Costa from Shakhtar Donetsk has proven inspirational for the German champions. His remarkable pace, trickery and wing play has allowed the space for Thomas Muller and Robert Lewandowski to enjoy exceptional seasons. The trio have scored 42 league goals and have 15 assists between them this term. Douglas Costa has 9 of those assists and Lewandowski has enjoyed playing alongside the Brazilian. Lewandowski has cemented his reputation as one of the most lethal strikers in the game with 23 goals in 22 league matches.
#2. Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez, Neymar – Barcelona
Was there any doubt? The four-time Ballon d’Or winning Messi was joined in the Barcelona attack by Brazilian superstar Neymar in 2013 and Uruguayan forward Luis Suarez a year later. The deadly trident managed to form a coherent partnership and each player has shown their endless talents. The MSN led Barcelona to the treble last season and now the Catalan club are looking to win an unbelievable second consecutive La Liga, Copa Del Rey, and UEFA Champions League haul. The trio has scored over 200 goals between them since Suarez’s arrival and play with a telepathic connection. If they continue at this rate then the Barcelona attack should make up the three-man shortlist for the 2016 Ballon d’Or.

Barcelona have their MSN and Real Madrid have their BBC. The most expensive strike force ever assembled is also one of the most talented and deadly and they have proven so in yet another outstanding attacking season. Gareth Bale joined Real Madrid in the summer of 2013 and joined with Karim Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo to form the Madrid front three. Since then, the trio have scored 278 league goals between them and won a number of trophies. The BBC fired Los Blancos to success in the Copa Del Rey, UEFA Super Cup, and most notably the 2014 Champions League.
