Transfer Talk – Juventus leading the race for Isco

Isco joined Real Madrid from Malaga in the 2013/14 season and has never really cemented his place in the first team of Real Madrid. Majority of his appearances have been from the bench or when some key player has been missing. Several media reports over the seasons have reckoned that he could soon make the move away from Santiago Bernebeu.

According to Italian tabloid, Italian Football Daily, Juventus are leading the race for the signature of Isco who is also wanted by Premier League side, Arsenal. According to this media report, Juventus have been left behind with a void after Paul Pogba completed his €110m to Premier League side Manchester United and have diverted their attention to Spain for the signature of the young Spaniard. Also on their radar, Juventus would like a permanent move for Isco and a loan move for Kovacic.

Isco’s Real Madrid career started brightly, but has not really grown from there on. Isco has made 97 appearances for Real Madrid since his debut in 2013, but majority of those appearances have been off the bench. He has scored 15 goals so far with Real Madrid. Isco faces tough competition for playing time with the likes of Luca Modric, Toni Kroos, Casemiro, Kovacic, James Rodriguez and Lucas Vazquez.

However Isco’s father, Paco Alarcon stated :-

“It’s true that several clubs are interested in my son but we are not interested in rumors.”

“The only thing my son is thinking about is staying at Real Madrid and renewing his contract.”

Juventus are in the pursuit of filling the void created by Paul Pogba’s departure. Juventus are searching for a creative mid-fielder and Isco perfectly fits to their plans. This deal seems highly unlikely as Real Madrid might face a transfer ban from the winter transfer window and it would not be a wise decision of Real Madrid President, Fiorentino Perez and coach, Zinedine Zidane to let go off Isco. He is certainly a player for the future and could potentially captain Real Madrid if he sticks to the club. He is just 24 and has been compared on several occasions to the likes of Spanish great, Andreas Iniesta.
