Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s dream of playing for Real Madrid may struggle to come to fruition, with Zinedine Zidane’s interest in the Borussia Dortmund forward having cooled.
Even though the 27-year-old revealed his desire to one day turn out for the home team at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu, his skillset might not be what Los Blancos’ French coach is looking for.
“Although Aubameyang’s name has been discussed internally at Real Madrid as an option for next season, following the lifting of their transfer ban, Zidane has other ideas,” Sports Bild revealed.
“The speedy forward doesn’t fit Zidane’s requirements.”
Currently away with Gabon to contest the African Cup of Nations, Aubameyang has already netted 20 times in all competitions this season for Thomas Tuchel, even scoring in both of the 2-2 draws played out between Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League.
